Dewray Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-26
Dewray ("the app") takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information the app handles and what it doesn't.
1. Summary
- There are no accounts. The app never asks for your name, email, phone number or anything else that identifies you.
- Your wake-up records and character are stored only on your device by default.
- Only if you join a neighborhood (the feature for using the app with friends) is a minimal set of information stored on a server so your neighbors can see it (section 3). If you never create or join a neighborhood, that information is never sent.
- If the app crashes or an alarm fails to sound, an error report is sent (section 4).
- The app does not use the camera or the microphone, and it never takes photos or videos.
2. Information stored on your device
The following stays on your device only.
| Item | What |
|---|---|
| Records | Wake-up time and bedtime check-in time for each day; stars, rays and dew earned; streaks; achievements |
| Character and room | Nickname, evolution stage, outfits and furniture you own, what you're wearing and what you've placed, your wall note |
| Settings | Wake-up goal, alarm time and alarm sound, notification, sound and vibration settings |
| Neighborhood | Neighborhood code |
| Purchases | Products you've bought, transaction identifiers (section 6) |
This information is deleted when you delete the app or tap "Erase all records" in Settings.
Device backups — If your device's backup is turned on, this information may be included in your backup. On Android, Google backup includes the records database and alarm settings; on iPhone, iCloud backup includes the app's data. These backups are kept by Google or Apple in your account, and the developer cannot see them. Your neighborhood membership (the anonymous identifier) is not included in Android backups, so on a new device you rejoin with your neighborhood code.
3. Information stored on a server when you use a neighborhood
Neighborhoods are optional. Only if you create one, or join one with a code, is the following stored on a server (Google Firebase Firestore, Seoul region, South Korea). It is visible only to members of the same neighborhood (up to 5 people, including you).
| Item | Why |
|---|---|
| Anonymous identifier | To tell neighbors apart. Not linked to a name or email |
| Nickname | To show you in the neighbor list |
| Total stars, number of dawn wake-ups | To draw your character at the right evolution stage in your room |
| Outfits you're wearing, furniture you've placed | To draw your room for neighbors |
| Latest wake-up time and wake-up tier, the date, your streak | So neighbors can see each other's wake-up times in the morning |
| Whether you did a bedtime check-in tonight | To turn off the light in your room for neighbors at night. Your bedtime is never sent |
Never sent to the server — your wall note, the full list of outfits and furniture you own, your bedtime, your past wake-up records, and your purchases.
- The anonymous identifier is issued by Firebase Anonymous Authentication and stored on your device. Deleting the app breaks the link.
- When you leave the neighborhood, your information on the server is deleted immediately. You can leave from "Move or leave neighborhood" on the Neighbors tab, or with "Erase all records" in Settings.
- Only people who know the neighborhood code can join. Please don't post your code publicly.
4. Error reports
If the app crashes or an alarm fails to make a sound, an error report is sent to Google Firebase Crashlytics so the developer can find the cause.
| Item | What |
|---|---|
| Error details | Where the app stopped, why an alarm couldn't sound, recent activity log (for example, purchase processing steps) |
| Alarm status | Alarm volume, whether exact alarms are allowed |
| Device info | Device model, OS version, free memory and similar |
| Installation identifier | A random value created for each installation. Not linked to a name or email |
Wake-up records, nicknames and neighborhood information are never included in error reports.
An alarm that doesn't sound is the most serious failure a wake-up app can have, but because the app doesn't crash, it would otherwise leave no trace. We need to know how often it happens to fix it, so this case is reported separately.
5. Permissions
These are the permissions the app asks for and why. You can decline any of them; only the related feature is limited, and you can keep using the app.
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Notifications | Showing wake-up alarms and bedtime reminders |
| Alarms (iOS 26 and later) | Registering the wake-up alarm as a system alarm so it sounds even in silent mode |
| Add to Photos (iOS) | Used only when you save a share card to Photos. The app never reads your photo library |
| Exact alarms (Android) | Ringing the alarm at the time you set |
| Full-screen notifications (Android) | Showing the alarm screen over the lock screen |
| Vibration (Android) | Alarms and touch feedback |
| Run at startup (Android) | Re-registering alarms after the device restarts |
The app does not access your camera, microphone, location or contacts.
6. In-app purchases
Purchases of ray packs and the Supporter Pack are processed by Google Play or the App Store. The developer never receives your name, card number or payment method.
| Item | Stored | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Transaction identifier (issued by the store) | On your device | To make sure the same purchase is never delivered twice |
| Purchased product | On your device | To apply what you bought in the app |
Transaction identifiers are never sent to a server. Because there is no login, the app doesn't link purchases to a person; "Restore purchases" is handled by the store, based on your store account.
7. Rating prompts
The app occasionally shows the store's rating prompt (Google Play In-App Review, Apple StoreKit). Ratings and reviews go directly to the store; neither the app nor the developer receives them.
8. Sharing and processors
The app does not sell or share personal information with third parties. The companies below process information on the app's behalf for sections 3, 4, 6 and 7.
| Processor | Task | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Google LLC (Firebase Firestore, Firebase Authentication) | Storing neighborhood information and delivering it between neighbors; issuing anonymous identifiers (section 3) | South Korea (Seoul) |
| Google LLC (Firebase Crashlytics) | Collecting and storing error reports (section 4) | Google data centers (including the US) |
| Google LLC (Google Play), Apple Inc. (App Store) | Processing in-app purchases; showing rating prompts (sections 6 and 7) | Each company |
The app currently contains no advertising or analytics SDKs. If that changes, you will be told in advance as described in section 11.
9. Retention and deletion
- Information on your device: kept until you tap "Erase all records" or delete the app.
- Neighborhood information: kept until you leave the neighborhood, then deleted from the server immediately. If you've already deleted the app, email us and we'll delete it (Data deletion).
- Error reports: kept for 90 days under Crashlytics' policy, then deleted automatically.
10. Your rights and children's privacy
- You can review and delete your information at any time. Information on your device can be viewed and deleted in the app; information on the server is deleted when you leave the neighborhood or ask us by email.
- The app doesn't collect identifying information and has no chat, messages or stamps. The only text your neighbors can see is your character's name, and your wall note is never sent to them.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will announce it through an app update and on this page. Any change that adds new information to what is collected will be announced at least 7 days before it takes effect.
